We didn 't know what to expect and this place absolutely blew us away. Our waiter,Steve, was nice and funny and on top of things. The owner, Clay, came out a few times to talk to us; his excitement for the foodhe makes (and the mushrooms that he forages) is palpable and contagious. He made us a salad with a rare Beefsteak mushroom thathe recently found, and I swear that it was one of the best salads I 've ever had. I told him this and he said we just threw ittogether. That 's how good this restaurant is!! They just casually make incredible dishes! We got the pad see ew and the surf nturf and were full and so satisfied at the end of the meal, but we still had to try the cheesecake for dessert. My husband and Iate the whole thing and cleaned the plate! Amazing meal. Will definitely be back next time we pass through Savannah.
First time here and what a pleasure. Started with a wonderful lychee lemonade and garlic bread. Best bread I have had in a long time. I got the crabby cakes which came on a salad topped with a delicious sauce. Perfectly fixed! Others at the table got thebrisket,sandwich and pancakes. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals!
The customer service was great. The menu was interesting and according to the hostess, it changes week to week as the owner actually forages for most of the ingredients. I ordered the tea, the chickpea pesto toast, and the huckleberry cheesecake. I waspleased with everything, except the Cheesecake. It was mostly the combination of the strong huckleberry taste with the portionsize. The beauty of it is that the chef came to the table personally to hear my opinion. I would definitely recommend it toanyone. Disclaimer: the menu is heavy on mushroom and cashew... But it works!
We had several meals here on a trip and each dish was delicious! They do such an amazing job with mushrooms of all kinds with texture and flavor. The restaurant has a large screened in patio and outside patio area perfect for having our dogs with us.Service was outstanding too. Everything is packed with flavor, and we left stuffed each time. My favorite is the bahn mi andforagers toast, and best vegan cheesecake!
This was such an unexpected treat! We looked up vegan places because we wanted some veggies and while it wasn?t quite ?light? fare (our waitress warned us too) it was DELICIOUS. Neither my boyfriend or I are vegan but we?ll definitely be back next timewe visit Savannah. Thoughtful interior, great service, cozy ambience, and mouthwatering food and drinks. Highly recommended ifyou?re looking for something different but delicious!
