This very small restaurant, is at the end when the place (Plaza) in the center of QUERETARO is amazing. Most of his tables are outside....over the Plaza....the service is very attentive and REAL. Food, try the chorizos borrachos (even chorizo sausages).... from this world, grilled sausages immersed in tequila and beer!, drinks, the margaritas are made at home!, Was here for a total of 6 days, went there to eat 3 days....and loved it!

“Fonda del Refugio” means little shelter, but in this context it is small plates of food. You also have full meals. I like this restaurant because it is deep enough in the Jardín de la Corregidora that it is a peaceful place for a meal. There are both exterior and interior seats. Outdoors there are trees and parasols to provide plenty of shade in the afternoon. I was in this restaurant several times, usually for dinner, but this time for a light lunch in the middle of the afternoon. Beer is a favorite of me on a hot summer afternoon and although this visit was in May, it is the hottest month a year in Queretaro. In Mexico is a special drink to mix beer with a different flavor juice. A Michelada is one of the most famous. Simply a Michelada is beer mixed with Salsa Ingles (Worcestershire sauce) served over ice in a glass with salt. A Michelada con Clamato is simply a MicheladaI to which you add Clamato juice. There are dozens of variations. I started this delicious concoction. The table is always set with Totopos y salsa (chips and sauce). For lunch today I had the quesadillas filled with huitlacoche (corn mushroom). It is sweet, tasty and not to miss. If you want a hamburger, don't travel. The Caesar salad was fresh and served with a delicious dressing. The meal was completed with Café Americano. A perfect lunch, your mileage may vary.

La comida estaba deliciosa, el servicio fue muy atento y amable, la ubicación es excelente y el ambiente es muy agradable. Hay una gran variedad de platillos y es uno de los lugares más económicos en esta plaza.

La comida no es muy buena, esperaba algo mejor ya que no es muy barato que digamos. El lugar es bonito ya que todo el centro de Queretaro lo es.

Caro, servicio lento y deficiente, lugar sencillo y descuidado, comida muy mala, incipida y fría. ¡No lo recomiendo!
