She took us straight to our seat and told us our waitress would be with us in just a few minutes. A few minutes later we had not been greeted. In fact, we had time to apply a fresh coat of mascara in the bathroom, gather 4 bingo cards and markers, and start round one of bingo before we were greeted. I believe it was around the 15 min mark before our “greet” took place. We ordered 4 waters and our meal all at once. Our waters were made and brought out with lemons(which we didn’t ask for) 10-12 minutes later. A total of 30 min has passed at this point. Thank goodness our water came. We were drying out. We participated in their catchy bingo game as we waited for our food. “Hit me baby one more time” “ BYE BYE BYE”, “Drowning in a sea of love” were all songs that kept our interest. Before we knew it, the beautiful sunlight was gone. It was now dark. Oh no, Miranda can’t see to drive at night. The bingo game continued but our food wasn’t with us. When would it come? Today? Tonight? Tomorrow? We weren’t sure. Our waitress finally came over and made some comments that had our minds wondering what goes on in Sanford at nighttime? Did she put our food in? It has now been an hour and 15 min. The truth is, the kitchen in fact wasn’t cooking it. Our waitress took care of that and yelled at the kitchen staff to start cooking our food. We’re all sweating. We don’t know what day it is. How long can you live without food? Are these our last moments? Whew, here comes our food. 3 out of 4 orders were correct. The grilled chicken however was fried and was placed between two brioche buns rather than the rye ones we ordered. Thankfully are silly Sanford waitress took it back to the kitchen staff, yelled at them again and had them remake it. By the time it came out correctly the three of us were stuffed like pigs. Miranda’s hands were sweaty thinking about how late it was. Would we be able to finish the trip? We received our checks after asking twice and letting out our opinions. You know what they say about opinions, everyone has one. We all received a $1.60 discount. Thank goodness. Think about how far $1.60 will go in these times. At the end of the day the food was great, the service sucked. Call ahead and make sure they have hired cooks and servers. If not, you will be driving to the beach in the dark 3 hours after you sat down for dinner.
Came here for the first time on a whim, and I was not disappointed! Live music Friday and Saturday, and the food is amazing. Bangers and Mash was incredible. My partner got a burger that was bigger and better than expected! Prices are lower than other places around, truly a great value for the portions and atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back!
I love going to the Cricket! Hard to find actual Shepherds Pie and theirs is delicious! Also the Irish Spring Rolls are amazing!Food: 5/5
(Edit: you see the response below, I get accused of an agenda when this is an honest review. Ownership takes no responsibility and you see no inclination to improve. Good atmosphere, overpriced food with small portions, friendly but substandard service. One of our group of six ordered cheesecake and it was the kind that you would get at a supermarket. Our server wasn't trying too hard even though business was slow. I believe this place must be slowly dying if the restaurant needs to simultaneously raise prices and squeeze portion sizes. We had a good times, but we all agreed that we won't be back. (Edit: and now you can see why.
The service was fine, just wish the food was as well. I had the Pub Burger, it was overcooked and the gril was dirty as it had crust and other food items stuck too that were burnt giving the burger burnt flavor. The chips, fries, and pickle chips were fried in dirty oil...everything had a burnt flavor. Pickle chips were less burnt tasting but very greasy. Ranch helped there. The restaurant wasn't busy either. Just very disappointed in the food.
