Undoubtedly it was a mistake to have entered el tupinamba. the owner traded with arrogance and aggressiveness when he considered the sanitary protocols as exaggeration. besides the bad behavior of his associates who tried to cover it. the owner attacked me physically. struck my face mask, pressed them with his own hands, sucked them in water and threw them on the floor, pointed to me and repeated rudely this does not work! and ask me to leave the place. we were also told that the owner drags in the regular women. (the owner is a man with a mustache). on the other side, if you want a relaxed atmosphere, with excellent service and good music; right next door is the black smith cocktail bar.
Came here with a Spaniard! And he was impressed with the quality of the food, the ambience, the Spanish music, the flavor, the service. Fabulous experience. Come on Sunday to have the paella made by Pati.... riquísimo!
The food is average; waitstaff is very busy. They have great music regularly, which would be more enjoyable if it wasn't smoky. This would be fine as a bar only.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at El Tupinamba, an informal Spanish restaurant a few streets away from the Jardin. We had heard they had the best tapas in town, which I'm happy to say is true. We ordered a variety platter that...was sufficient for two people, followed by an eggplant dish--the chef's own creation, which was absolutely delicious. They were out of my favorite Sherry, Tio Pepe, and so we ordered glasses of vino tinto. It was a Friday night and we were lucky to enjoy a flamenco show that was as authentic as our meal. I've been to many Spanish restaurants in Spain and in the U.S. and El Tupinamba now goes to the top of my list of favorite Spanish restaurants.
