Delicious food and lots of it at a reasonable price. Traditional dishes like Taudias, tacos and Toastadoes. They offer special menu each day between and Good service and some waiters speak English. This place also offers a room to have parties. Beautiful place...with a really nice hotel. It is on the main Highway between Veracruz and the city of Oaxaca. This is a favorite restaurant with the native people and foreigners.

Very safe bet for Oaxacan fair, clean restaurant and the staff are kind and cordial. Wide range of dishes to choose from, fewer vegetarian dishes of course of still a nice selection, compared to what I expect one will find in the rest of Tuxtepec....I was only passing through the city one night, and issued at the hotel where the restaurant is located, in part because reviews were so good for the restaurant and I thought it would make it easier to stay here before leaving first thing in the morning. It did! I just wouldn't rave about the restaurant as though it's an amazing experience in gastronomy. I got the empanadas especiales (plantain dumplings filed with ground meat) to start, three large fried dumplings . They were yummy, though if have liked them better stuffed with traditional beans instead of meat. Rather they were served with a tostada shell filled with beans. This appetizer could easily be an entree. I also got a shrimp plate al ajo with garlic, served with rice and a standard iceberg lettuce garnish/salad. It was average, only slightly over cooked and slightly over salted. I've become amused to that in Mexican restaurants, though as a chef myself, won't let folks off the hook for it! The agua de malanga (accompanied by the slow food logo) was delicious, just a little too much sugar! I certainly wouldn't have considered this restaurant a slow food establishment based on the food, but appreciate the mission of sourcing food from small farmers and preparing local traditional dishes, of which. There or fewer on the menu of about options total.

Stayed at the hotel it is attached to and had a wonderful surprise! This restaurant! With great service and delicious food. How can you go wrong? Had breakfast and dinner!
