Authentic Spanish in an intimate setting. Calderon surprised us with the quality of their dishes. I found their paella valencia and negra to be amongst the best I had in the country. Their staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The space is small...and intimate.

After trying Paella in Spain, our tastebuds were elevated to a higher level of paella taste. Paella in Manila was jst not the same.Bt aftr eating paella here, memories of Spain came flying back. Oh what a wonderful moment!A must try if u love paella. Be ready to spend a lil more though :)
We had a late lunch at 3 o'clock today. Since most restaurants around San Juan were already closed for a break and reopening for dinner, we decided to try Calderon, which luckily was still serving lunch. It's a casual hole in the wall with a printed menu, so we were a bit apprehensive while waiting for our orders. However, this small gem of a restaurant did not disappoint! The dishes are somewhat pricey, but well worth it. We particularly enjoyed their marinated lamb, tongue with mushrooms, and macadamia Sans Rival. The chorizo sisig and fried calamari were also good, but not outstanding. We are excited to return and sample more items from their menu next time. Hats off to the chef!
