Crab Hut - San Diego

I come here about once or twice every month and I'm always satisfied with the food and service

Food is good. Service...not soo good. They force a 18% gratuity fee!!! Even if service is terrible. It's suppose to go to workers. Its not the customers fault that crabhut is paying you scraps. Everything in the menu is extremely expensive so it does not justify adding the gratuity fee.

Well after you order your food and finish paying your bill they add a extra 18% for tip in your bill I guess is a new thing that is happening here in California now.

For my 3 children all under 13 years my daughter, my husband n my mother, they charged us a fee of 18%. It was $48 on top of what we had order. Our bill came out to be $348 for 3 lb crab sons of maize n potatoes, I order ,1 clam chowder soup hubby order 6 wings with pommes, my other daughter order a children's dish chicken tender n I order Mac n cheese for my child n yes it was $348! So remember if you don't forget to eat your family in Krabbenhütte to take $500 with u just in case. n I think 18% is ridiculous!

For those who love their seafood all creole its a great experience in a group. We have been visiting this spot for years and it never disappoints. Good quality with delish sauce and sides which add to the fun. Try the Crab Poppers too!
