I recently dined at Avant and opted for the chef's tasting menu, which was priced at $95 per person. An additional $55 was required for the wine pairing, but my party chose to order drinks separately. Overall, I would rate the tasting menu 8 out of 10. The standout dishes were exceptional, but I was disappointed with the Sculpin, which was underseasoned and lacked accompaniments to complement the fish. Despite this misstep, the dish was cooked perfectly. The presentation of all the dishes was impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The highlight of the meal was the German chocolate cake dessert, while the rhubarb dessert fell short with its sparse fruit topping. Before we left, we were given a spicy rub to take home, which added a fantastic kick to dishes like salmon. Overall, I was pleased with the meal and would have been ecstatic if the Sculpin dish had been better seasoned. Thank you to the chef for a great dining experience.
Wow. The food, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant are outstanding. We chose to celebrate our anniversary here, and the entire staff was welcoming and attentive. Our server, Chris, was fantastic and guided us through a delightful evening with wonderful suggestions for food and wine. I highly recommend trying the chef's 4-course meal with wine pairings – it's an experience well worth it.
It has been some time since our last visit to Avant, but we have been coming here for more than 20 years. This was by far the most incredible dinner we have ever had here (or anywhere, really)! We opted for Chef Sergio Jimenez's tasting menu and were absolutely amazed. Each dish was a delightful blend of flavors and beautifully presented. My personal favorite was the Artgu-Eclair with truffles. We will definitely be returning every time Chef Sergio creates a new tasting menu, as this 27-year-old chef is a culinary superstar!
