We were only ones eating in the restaurant yesterday and despite this, all the staff were standing around chatting about nothing in particular. One waiter and about 3 other people including the food prep guy are doing nothing but chatting. We had to flag down our waiter multiple times for basic requests, i.e. ready to order, more wasabi, and most importantly our hot sake tasted horrible with a bitter weird funky taste. We told our waiter about it who apologized and disappeared for another 10 15 mins. He finally came to take our order (still hasn 't brought us a new sake back). Another 5 10 mins he comes over and brings us a new sake and actually tells us, sorry about the sake, it was a bottle that was almost empty and had sediment that had built up at bottom of bottle. He didn 't seem to show that he cared that they had just given us this; you don 't serve that to customers. He brings the new sake (still didn 't taste very good) and brings our meals. The meals chicken teriyaki, and sashimi with tempura tasted bland and the sashimi pieces were cut sloppily and looked too big. With all of this we still had to flag down our waiter again (they are all so busy chatting) just to pay the bill. Expecting some form of reconciliation for all this, I get the bill and see everything has been charged even the sake despite him admitting giving us bad stuff (that would have likely made us sick if we drank it). I rarely write reviews and really it has to be significant for me to leave a bad review....but people should know this. Very overpriced restaurant for bland average food. Won 't ever be back here to eat. Go to Sushi House on San Mateo Ave in San Bruno for a far better experience and good quality food (and sake).
Cute little hole in the wall spot with fresh and delicious sushi. Service is friendly and the restaurant was clean
I loved the atmosphere in this place and want to give them another shot. On our first visit, the flavour of the sushi was not good, but I was having a tough time putting my finger on what the problem was. Udon was fine. Service fine, cleanliness fine. I was honestly just really comfortable, so I 'll give 'em another try later. Can 't recommend them at the moment, though.
I miss the old owners, but Mijouri is still one of my local favorites. Friendly staff, inexpensive, good quality, and the size of the sushi pieces are worth what you pay for (I've been to some sushi places and the pieces were so small -___- .
Attentive friendly staff. Good sushi ? portions for the price. *sushi boat currently not running since the pandemic, it may start up again in a couple of months.
