Affectionately referred to as The Briar it still has a steady daytime following of mostly retirees from the nearby area, and a handful of younger people. With a good jukebox, 6 or 7 flat screens, a huge projection screen TV and the addition of 4 Nintendo Wiis throughout the bar (Wii bowling seems to be the fan favorite) there is plenty entertainment even on the slowest of days. The food (appetizers, burgers and sandwiches mostly) are above average and very reasonably priced. If you get a chance to try the Big Mike Sandwich (An Italian sausage split on a roll piled high with grilled pastrami, provolone, and grilled onions) it 's worth the stop. Happy Hour: I know they do have happy hour pricing, but I am not sure the times. Nightlife: The few times I have been in at night they have had Karaoke or live music. The Karaoke seems to be very popular with some very good singers and even when the singer isn 't so good the crowd would jump right in to help out. It 's not the biggest bar in town, and it 's not in the best neighborhood, but it is worth a stop if you are in the area and looking for a good time.
This place has come a long way the food is DELICIOUS! You can't beat the prices either! The drinks are great also very decently priced!
The new owner is GREAT! The place looks AMAZING!! Jerome kept us laughing from the moment we walk through the door until we stumbled out. The drinks we strong, the music was good and the company FUN!! Totally had a blast here. We've decided we'll be regulars at this place. Oh ask for the pineapple kickback, even Sponge Bob would drink it.
Loved the Greenbrier. Sorry to hear it has closed permanently. Fun place, with good food and great service. Very reasonable prices. Not a place for kids though....yea!!
I live just down the street. It 's a good, clean place to sit down, relax...and possibly get knifed. I enjoy a beer an Angel game w/my pops every now then but...the neighborhood has been completely overtaken by poor, drug addicts prostitutes So If you 're white, sensitive not to use to poor (or black) folks, this bar is NOT for you. BTW- The meatloaf is 4
