Ambler Texas Kitchen Cocktails

Our waiter Francisco was really an attentive and friendly waiter. The food here at Hotel contessa is always consistently good.

Great ambiance, our reservation was almost at the kitchen closing time and the chef and hostess Theresa didn’t mind. Service didn’t lack although we arrived later in the evening, the meal cocktails appetizers were great especially the fried green tomatoes. Would love the Ambler to add more old fashioned variations. What a great experience last night. Thank you and your staff for a fantastic dinner. The young lady who waited on us was outstanding.

We were served on our last 2 visits by Jarrod who was very attentive! I hesitate to write this review because we've been going to Ambler for dinner (and now brunch) for the past ~6 months and it is always quiet with no wait times! This is a great restaurant right on the San Antonio Riverwalk downtown and we couldn't be happier to spend our money here because we always have a great experience.

Glad we tried it, but think this is a one and done for us. I forgot it was restaurant week but they didn 't organically offer up that menu, you had to ask for it. The food was good but it wasn 't an experience meal, but solid food on a quiet part of the riverwalk. Our server was great very helpful with recommendations. It was a little annoying that the drink menu was outdated on their beers my husband went to order a beer and the server mentioned that none of those on the menu we had just looked at were available, so she listed out what was on tap. It was eerily quiet when we went, but we did go early at 6 since we have a little one with us. By the time we left it was starting to pick up.
