I was told it was refried beans. I thought it was runny for refried beans but it was really good on the chips!!! My husband had the Mexico City platter and I enjoyed the pollo con crema. We tried the sopapillas and they were ok. I was expecting a fried bread like I've had at other Mexican restaurants but these were more like a soft tortilla fried and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. They were served with little dishes of honey and chocolate. Overall it was a great meal and the service was excellent.
Pretty average run of the mill Mexican place. Nothing special and pricey for what you get. Beans were out of a can and so we're the jalapeños. Service was good but that's about it. Place is pretty run down too, not that much to see here. I would keep it moving and look for something else.
My husband and I took 3 kids and we each really enjoyed our meals. The food was delicious; the service was fast and she was friendly and helpful. It was a great experience!
Just visiting the area. Best Mexican food I've eaten. I order El Rey. Just the right amount of cheese, salt spices. Service was excellent.
Warm tortilla chips served with fresh salsa and a luscious whipped bean (salsa? Whatever you call it, its delicious! My wife went with the more vegetarian spinach enchiladas which she said were very good. My meal, while good really lacked a strong flavor. My meal came with a taco which was pretty plain and lackluster, it was reminiscent of and Old El Paso taco kit. The enchilada I had was also pretty pedestrian as well. Then however I got to the part that made up for all the rest. The tamale was definitely packed with flavor all over. This was the star of the show and would suggest anyone in the area looking for traditional Mexican food, skip the tacos and get a plate of tamales. You'll thank me later.
