Black Bear Diner - Salinas Ca

A consistently nice experience at this food chain. Charming server, good food and clean, pleasant atmosphere. It’s my favorite diner. Kid-friendliness: Coloring materials provided. Good menu for kids. Kids enjoy the Bear-y nice theme.

Potatoes undercooked. Coffee cup dirty. I would have said something but she never asked how things were, filled coffee with never asking how things are but when she said anything it was to inform me that I can pay my bill at front. Hostess took money but again never asked hiw things were. Never saw a manager. Maybe because I was alone and didn't seem like I would be worth the tip. I love going to black bear but this was sad.

Came by with the family, we we're seated in under 10 minutes. The service was great and food was delicious.

We have been coming Here for years. Yet this morning Makayla gave our table away because 2 people out of our party were parking. My mother is diabetic and she needs to eat at certain times because of her condition. When I asked to speak to the manager to see what was going on and why other families were going before us. Makayla denied what she had mentioned to my parents. She switched it to her saying that we will give you a few more minutes. If that was the case she never came back to check on us to see if we were all there. After waiting more time my parents were to upset to stay since my mom was already feeling sick from not eating. We would celebrate family birthdays, and had multiple Saturday or Sunday breakfast meals there. We won 't be coming back.

Portions are huge good food for the price. Update Service was great the waitress there Lisa was super friendly. Thank you for your great service. Once again the portions are huge in addition the room the Rubin sandwich
