Le Duplex - Saint-Raphaël

Not a lot of choice but that is completely fine because everything on the menu is amazing. The place looks very nice. The service was also very good.

We visited St Raphael for the day and stopped for lunch at this little restaurant in a quiet road just next to the archaeological museum. The food was simple but excellent and reasonably priced. The owner was very friendly, spoke excellent English and was happy to explain the menu to me for those items where my poor French let me down.

This was a chance find for us on the way back from the museum. We returned in the evening for dinner and were not disappointed. The food is based on local ingredients and is beautifully prepared and presented. We had a herring and potato salad and a pissaladiere with salad. The pissaladiere tartlet had thin pastry and thick layer of onions cooked to the point of sweetness a rare treat! We followed this with apple and fig tartlets that were delicious. All was washed down with a pichet of rose. In many ways Le Duplex is the sort of place that you dream about finding but rarely do. The food is great, the prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere is cosy and the proprietors are welcoming and helpful. We recommend Le Duplex highly. We will be going back!

This is a delightful little place tucked away in St Raphael old town. We were attracted because local specialities dominated the menu and the place was used by local people which we always find a positive recommendation. Not gastronomic in any sense, but a super variety of Provençal offerings freshly prepared and served with a smile. An ideal lunchtime venue for a reasonably priced meal and the carafe wine is very acceptable. The two guys who run the place really want customers to enjoy the visit and lunch here is satisfying and fun.
