He stopped by a couple times to make sure I liked everything. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will definitely be coming back. I try to support local small businesses instead of eating at chain restaurants.
Wow! This restaurant surpassed my expectations! It was delicious!! I liked everything about it. The atmosphere was simple with lovely music playing in the background and incredible aromas filling the air. The waitress was pleasant and efficient. I ordered the beef kabobs. The kabobs were unlike beef kabobs I’ve had in the past (see the photo) but they were filled with flavor. Absolutely delicious! Everyone in my group enjoyed the restaurant. The food was amazing! I’m already planning my next visit. I had no trouble finding a parking spot on the street. It was a nice evening with many people strolling in the neighborhood. We felt very safe. Do yourself a favor and go to this locally owned restaurant. You won’t be sorry!!
This is a hidden gem. It looks like a very casual place, but the food and service is absolutely stellar. The place has a real casual, informal, and homely vibe. It’s actually a family owned place and the owner is very kind and friendly. We started with some tea. I took the Persian tea without milk and my partner took the tea with milk. It was a chilly evening in STL, and the hot tea was the perfect. Next, we got some falafel as an appetizer which was absolutely hot, fresh and crunchy. Next we shared a single platter. It came with three types of kabobs chicken, beef, and lamb, and two types of rice. One is a a specialty rice with berries I forgot the name), and another was the usual buttered basmati yellow rice. Both types of rice excellent. The kababs were simply the great. The meat is halal, and it’s cooked/ roasted to the perfection. We can’t stop eating. I have always been a super fan of Iranian kabobs, and this place has nailed it. To finish the great meal, we ordered some Iranian rice pudding which was similar to Indian firni. It was creamy, aromatic, served chilled, topped with pistachio the sweet level is absolutely moderate. The entire dinner was excellent with all the items cooked perfectly, with good portion sizes. Both of us shared singles plates and the portions were absolutely good for us. The only complaint would be they didn’t give any complementary fresh baked pita with salad, which is quite a staple in Persian restaurants in the US. However, that’s good in a sense, otherwise I find myself almost full after eating those perfect hot pita breads in the beginning. Also, this place is more like a casual spot to offer anything complementary. At the end, the owner came and talked with us. He is very sweet and kind to offer us some portion of their famous dill rice to take home. I never expected this behaviour from any restaurant. It’s almost like a family. They are very sweet and kind. I can’t recommend the place more. Do visit them, and thank me later.
