As newcomers to the region, we were looking for an upscale dinner out, and Le Grill Saint-Georges did not disappoint! A cozy, warm atmosphere with professional staff, intimate enough to feel appropriate for a romantic dinner for two, but also with clear capacity to accommodate larger groups. Prices were entirely in line with the level of service and quality of the offerings. We arrived 20 minutes early for our 7:30 reservation but the hostess graciously offered to seat us right away. From start to finish, our server Simon was perfectly attentive without ever crowding us or seeming intrusive, and his professional attention to detail during the wine tasting serving was immaculate. As a party of four, our orders were the Rib-Eye steak, the pasta of the day (thanks again to Simon), the beef filet mignon and the St-Georges burger. Simply put, everything was *phenomenal*. Our party member with the Rib-Eye said it was the best steak she 's ever had, but all of us insisted the others try a bite of our dishes at some point, convinced we had gotten the better meal. Whenever you 're compelled to say, You have to try this! , you know you have something special. Our genuine appreciation goes out to the chef, all the kitchen staff and the entire front house staff for meeting and then exceeding our expectations. We 'll be back!Vegetarian options: Salads, vegetable sides.Dietary restrictions: Multiple gluten-free options including appetizers, fish, steaks, salads and vegetable sides.
To the management:We are visiting from Ottawa, our 2nd time in the Mont Tremblant area in the last month. We travel quite frequently and love eating out when we travel because this is a treat for my wife and I. On this visit we had very good friends with us, who were exposed to this rude behaviour. I also understand that the service industry has adopted a new tipping system that now the lowest margin for their tip seem to be 15%. I am willing to do my part and support those in the service industry that require a hand making ends meet. However, it also should be the customer's choice as to how much to tip a particular server based upon their experience. I base my tipping percentage based on 3 criterias, the individual server's attention to detail, the delivery of the food within a reasonable time, and the quality of the food served. Our server tonight was audacious enough to suggest the tip that I had left was not sufficient. I explained to our server that although the service was average and not exceptional our fries were cold. The server explained that I should have brought this shortcoming to her attention. Although I could have done just that after taking a significant amount of time to deliver our food it should have been ready for consumption. Therefore, I ate the burger which was great and the cold fries. Before my party arrived we requested to be seated outside when we made our reservation. However, upon arrival we were told that we could not be seated outside. But we saw people sitting outside when we arrived. Not being seated outide was perfectly fine but even when we were leaving there were still individuals seated outside. As I said while our service was adequate but not exceptional, the food took some time to be delivered but we were not in a hurry. However, when our burger and fries arrived the burger was great but the fries were cold. As I said at the start of this review the server had the audacity to comment on her tip which was 10%. I based that tip percentage on all the criterias I indicated earlier. This is not the manner in which a server should address whether or not the tip was sufficient in that individual's mind. This discussion after our meal was what I considered to be extremely unprofessional and rude. In retrospect the10% I had tipped was more than that individual deserved based on the after service attitude. The experience left me bewildered and shocked. It is not a server's place to question the percentage of the tip left with the customer. But take that percentage to examine what could have been done better to achieve a higher percentage and apply this to the next party they serve. I would suggest respectfully to the management that they train their service staff on the proper etiquette when dealing with customers as it applies to their tip. I will not be revisiting this location based simply on my after meal discussion with our service personnel.
Ate here after a long day's driving and it hit the spot big time. Had the filet mignon, it was certainly tasty and prepared well. The caesars are delicious as well. Service was great.
Service is terrible, waited over an hour for our food with no apology or warning that the food would take so long to come. Not an enjoyable experience.
