They have a menu of Eastern European breakfast and lunch items, crepes, drinks, as well as various baked goods. I had their Meat Pie, Blueberry Pie, and Poppyseed Cake. I wasn't the biggest fan of the poppyseed cake, but the pies were pretty good, and the prices were fairly reasonable. All in all, this is a joint that I'd recommend checking out.<br/ <br/ Meat Pie $2.95):<br/ 3.5/5<br/ This was filled with ground beef. The pastry outside was quite flaky and had a nice flavour. There was a fairly good amount of ground beef feeling inside. I did, however, find the beef to be a little dry and bland.<br/ <br/ Blueberry Pie $2.95):<br/ 3.5/5<br/ The pastry was similar to that of the meat pie, but was a bit sweeter. There was a good amount of thick blueberry filling inside. The blueberry was a bit on the bland side for me, but probably good for those who don't like overly sweet pastries.<br/ <br/ Poppyseed Cake $3.59):<br/ 3/5<br/ This is like a swiss roll that's filled with a poppyseed filling. The cake was a tad on the dry side, but still soft and moist. The poppyseeds were a bit on the bitter side; I don't know if that's how they're supposed to taste, but I wasn't particularly fond of the flavour personally.<br/ <br/ Summary:<br/ Food: 3.5/5<br/ Price: 4.5/5<br/ Service: N/A<br/ Overall: 3.5/5<br/ Recommendations: Pies
Went here with my husband as we were both craving some traditional perogies. We had the borsh (which I haven't had since my childhood), and it was just as I rememeber if not better! The perogies were great and looked hand made. Lots of other option to try next time. Will definitely come back.
Small, but great. Being a lover of good, hardy European breads, this was a perfect place to accidentally find. Working at the construction site right down the street it was great to find out from a coworker that during coffee break they got free coffee with any pastry. The coffee is great, the danishes and sausage rolls are delicious. But my favorite is the Russian Black bread to take home. Its a real dark, rye, hardy bread with coriander seeds. Only thing they have to work on is the interior but I guess that will come with time. Will recommend
