Denny's - Sacramento County

Our server Cindi was a breath of fresh air she knows how to do her job to say the very least order was take quickly and came out correctly and fast she didn't write down our order so I was worried but everything was spot on down to the correct accommodations requested not sure how anyone can have that good memory) gold star for her we will be back

Avoid at all cost.It feels like this place is going to close. Seriously understaffed. Geriatric staff (and I don't blame them) unable to understand any of the concerns. No regards for basic hygiene. Can't take order of scrambled eggs with mac-n-cheese, rather get served an all American meal with hash browns and bacon replaced by mac-n-cheese. Questioning the motive behind doing it I get an wide eye of doubting their intentions to me have more food on my plate. I don't eat that much and I must not pay to throw away food.

Was like 100 degrees inside and the food was the only thing not hot

I had my car worked on across the street and needed a spot to kill some time. I saw the Denny's across the street, and figured why not, and braved running across the busy intersection to get to it.I know Denny's is just a chain diner, and I hadn't been since my late night bar days in my 20s, but I was impressed when I walked in. The decor is completely different than several decades ago when I used to go. Cleaner and more sophisticated. The booths were nice looking and the entire restaurant just looked much more modern. When I commented on this to the waitress she'd mentioned that they'd updated it some time ago. They must run a clean shift at this location as it looked new to me.The menu is basically the same as what it used to be. Basic diner fare with huge portions at a decent price that will fill you up. The service was excellent. The waitress was pleasant and offered some suggestions. The food came to me quickly. My drink was kept refilled and the waitress made sure to check on me. She never rushed me when I finished my meal and spent time reading a book on my phone while waiting for my car to be ready. I was very comfortable for the several hours that I needed to wait.The food is what it is. You don't go to Denny's expecting gourmet dining. But, for what it is, they do it well. I got a large breakfast platter with a side of pancakes and couldn't finish the meal. Again, Denny's does what they do well. I'd recommend this spot to someone who was hungry. Check them out!
