Wife and I arrived and taken straight to reserved table. Great service, GREAT FOOD, dessert (blondie brownie w/ ice cream) and meal was very reasonably priced. Definitely will go again, and if you are in the Rutland area, make sure you stop in to try the menu.

The food was delicious and there were decent portions. Yes it's expensive, but this is truly the case where you get what you pay for. The portobello appetizer was delicious, the Pinot noir “substance” was just the right balance, and the steak frites were perfectly done and delicious. It was a great dinner!

We always love it here, and this time we brought a guest who said it was the best meal he had during his two-week stay in Vermont. The food is always so fresh and tasty and the service is great. Thanks so much!

Roots prides itself on serving a menu that 's sourced from local producers. It is well-prepared and the helpful servers will actually answer questions about portion size, preparation and preferences. Overall, I find the vibe to be good quality and relaxed execution. This is a good safe restaurant for friends and visitors who don 't want overly exotic or spicy food.

Food and service is consistently very good. Inside dining can be a little noisy because the restaurant is open and mostly concrete floors. Outside dining is very nice when weather is agreeable.
