Fresh seafood to cook at home. Clean place. Lots of options. Live lobsters, oysters, and more.Total newbie to this sorta place. Needed to grab a tray to get the seafood that we wanted, then have them weigh it out. Got a dozen oysters and a mackerel on ice, and grabbed a box of frozen surf clams. All tasted fresh and delicious. I'll be stopping by again when I'm in the area. I'll bring a better ice chest and more ice next time.
We have been here several times, but lately the seafood quality has gone down. The meat of the fish taste old and mushy, we bought snail meat for $18.00 and it never got soft. It was very hard after a long time cooking. The black shells meat we bought tasted really bad and it smells bad. Also the crabs they have in the tank does not have anything to eat inside. We also bought shrimp, and they were bad we got sick vomiting and stomach ache. Everything is very expensive, we spend $60.00 and everything went to the trash. So disappointing. And a lot of people go there I don’t know how it’s always full.
They have the more popular type of seafood at above average prices. The place is well maintained so you will not see smell really fishy odors due to staff frequently mop floor clean the tanks that hold the seafood. When it comes to the most variety and an attitude to have customers (so far from personal experience) I must say it is the seafood department at Hoa Binh Supermarket in Rosemead (located at the corner of San Gabriel Blvd. Garvey Avenue).
