That is a typical tourist trap. tourist fall, no care service and eating, over price for the quality and service they give them, plus they eat directly on the street, not even romantic, not even paid neither in their teller or the view....Even that seems fresh. not even quality, avoid! overpriced, not good and not comfortable and pushed service by a team that if I noticed that is made about eating it.
I was part of a group that had a three-course menu in this restaurant. the ambiente was very nice in the second floor with view of the harbour. the food was not particularly exciting and the shooting were less than expected for this quality of the...restaurant the first cure was a form of tabuli, which was beautifully presented but tiny and not particularly delicious. the next dish was a damped fish on a bed rice. that was beautiful and delicious. the last was a dessert, most of which was air and weakly deceived by berries.
We came here for Saturday lunch with our friend before taking him to La Rochelle airport for his flight home. We had booked a table at 12:00 to allow plenty of time but were totally unprepared for the huge queues trying to get off the...island as we were arriving from the mainland. The queue on the road that runs in front of the restaurant ended only 100 metres from the restaurant! We therefore decided that we would limit ourselves to plat and dessert from the menu and we all chose the coquilles special of the day which consisted of eight really large coquilles plus asparagus, potato quenelles and a sauce served in a separate bowl. We all felt that the coquilles were the best (and best cooked) we had ever been served. We each had a different dessert all of which were excellent. Service was friendly and efficient (our coquilles arrived 20 minutes after we entered the restaurant) and we were able to leave by 13:15 by which time the queues had vanished and we arrived at the airport over an hour before last check in! Highly recommended
