LA Cambusa is great place at the base of the Torre Aponale. Perfect for watching the world go by and for watching the activities in the Piazza. The menu offers much the same as most other places and is good value. From the many dozens of meals my wife and I have had we have never had cause to complain. The owners Paolo and Sara run the whole business themselves and are very proactive in the service. If you need advice on a suitable beer, you get good advice. This is not just a pavement bar. The interior is very nautical and also useful when the unexpected storm passes through. Music is not over loud, a good variety of sport on a TV, again not loud. A really good mix of locals and travellers all enjoying the venue. We will be eating there again later today, and next year on our return. Give it a go, we hope you enjoy it.
Stopped for lunch on a trip to Riva. Asked before dining if there were disabled access toilets. They said yes. There were not... A small cubicle with a door that didn 't fit marked as 'gents ' had a bar for support by the loo. The ladies had no supports. That 's if you could manage to get up to the toilets. Food. Partner had a hot dog. It was a bottled hotdog in a cheap bread roll. I had tortellini with meat ragu. Was undercooked cheap prepackaged pasta with a bland bolognese sauce. Add to which a cover charge Expensive drinks. Food overpriced. One lovely waitress. one surly waitress. One dismissive waiter Dreadful really.
We stopped here for lunch and ate panini and pasta. The food was all very good and we enjoyed our meals- sitting outside in the spring weather listening to the buskers nearby.
Stopped here for a beer while we waited for the ferry to take us back to Sirmione. Couldn't fault the service or the drink and again we just relaxed and enjoyed the beer.
We visited here twice for lunch. Once was on New Year's Day when it was absolutely jammed full so we ate outside. The other time was a couple of days later when it was much, much quieter only us and one other table. Both times the food was fresh and tasty and the service was friendly. The place is very cosy with wood paneling and interesting decor.
