Had visited a while back, and had the best focaccia and pasta then. Decided to go eat with the same friend that I had gone with back then and it was slightly disappointing this time around. The focaccia was still pretty good, but not garlicky enough and the marinara flavour wasn't as full bodied as previously.Ordered the spaghetti carbonara and there wasn't much sauce (if any at all) in it; none of that creaminess that carbonara is known for. In addition to this, the pasta was soft (i.e. overcooked, past al dente) and the egg in the sauce/dish wasn't properly and fully incorporated into the sauce and I had a chunk of yolk+white in the dish.
Cucina Piccolo is a very cosy Italy restaurant inside the Steveston Village, I have driven by a few times and always wanted to try their food. Saturday night, we went in without reservation, they were very accommodating and was able to fit us in.We ordered cheesy garlic bread, Fettuccine Della Casa and Angle Hair Salmone. The bread of cheesy garlic bread was very soft, with a strong garlic taste, cheese on top would be better if more. The bread was paired with house made marianna sauce, tasted great.Fetuccine Della Casa is a cream sauce with scallop, shrimp, mushroom and onion. The pasta was perfectly cooked, sauce is creamy but not to the point where it fills you up immediately. Decent amount of scallop and shrimps.Angle Hair Salmone is a rose sauce angle hair with smoked salmon, pea and mushroom. The rose sauce content some pepper, my mouth got a little spiced up afterwards. Smoked salmon def can increase the amount but overall filling. I also the remaining sauce to go, so I can dip them in bread as an additional meal.I look forward to my next visit.
Excellent food and great service. Everything we had was amazing. Highly recommend everything. High quality ingredients and the sidings are very filling (we couldn't even finish the smaller potions of pasta). Worth every penny.
Randomly visit this restaurant this night and found that it is totally out of my expectations!Once we opened the door, I got surprised, their interior design with the Christmas decorations made us feel super cozy. Cozy like I had traveled to some European house.Food are AMAZING, we tried the “Lobster Crab ravioli with Rose Shirmp Sauce” and “Fettuccine Della Casa”. They both are delicious, the pasta are chewy and mixed with those sauces are just perfect! Portion are fit maybe I was starving! Will visit again for sure!
