We had no reservations but had no problem securing a table. The restaurant was busy and with the exception of an employee the staff was friendly and attentive. My friend and I shared the speciality of the day, braided lamb legs served over vegetables with a baked potato and the fish of the day, Pan fritted ling served over vegetables with polnta sticks. Both included the unlimited salad bar, which offered two kinds of soups: vegetables and cauliflowers, fresh bread and a beautiful selection of salads, cold pastas and fruit. Also chocolate mousse for dessert was included. The lamb was very rare and very tastefully cooked. Ling, something over cooked for our taste, but still fantastic. For quality, selection and service it was a great value. Very recommended.
We eat 2 consecutive nights in the Askur Brasserie. I recommend her grilled lamb talloin as well as her grilled beef talloin, but for me the lamb dish was the better of these two. It was undoubtedly the best prepared lamb I ever had, although I rarely commissioned it due to my first couple experiences with lamb. Lamb is so prominent on Icelandic menus that I knew I would try it while in Iceland on this trip. The mushroom soup was absolutely delicious, creamy and smooth with a good amount of mushroom. A single bowl cannot be enough. The bread with the Soup Salad Bar was also delicious. Service was friendly and appropriate.
We really enjoyed this restaurant for dinner. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They had a wide range of products and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We loved that they had a salad and a soup bar. Very recommended.

Here twice on my trip! Very good food and the salad bar is a plus. This place can definitely fill especially weekend evenings, but the staff is attentive and make sure you get everything you need.
