On Saturday, October 28th Peyrassol served its last dinner at Southport. As I noted in my earlier review Peyrassol Cafe was left with no choice as its current landlords offered unacceptable terms and conditions for their lease renewal. They were unable to negotiate as the landlord ghosted them the last three months. It was sad as Peyrassol was a true gem of a restaurant. I'll admit I shed a few tears at this last meal. I opted for the steak cooked an amazing medium rare and their delicious mashed potatoes. I had their pavlova for dessert a lovely scrumptious nibble of confectionary delight. All washed down with a couple of the strongest gimlets to date. Everything was perfect. I'll always appreciate everyone who worked there. I saw Julie who I haven't seen in forever! Her presence brought back memories of my earliest dining days. Emmajean was our fabulous waitress and I know wherever she goes she will do great things. I could barely hold composure saying goodbye to Scott who greeted me even when I was simply passing by. I lost my composure saying goodbye to Chef Sachia, though I know she will open a new restaurant. She is an amazing chef whose food I have treasured each and every time. I'll admit I could not bring myself to say goodbye to Kristi whose conversations I've always appreciated. Lucky said it best. Peyrassol Cafe was a place for regulars where the staff were able to see first dates evolve through engagements, marriages, and children. A place for celebrations and a place where laughter was held. The food was delicious. The drinks were marvelous. I will miss Peyrassol very much as my neighborhood now seems a bit more sterile and corporate now.

Peyrassol is closing. Perfect beyond words, and the very best of places. Superb cuisine, a wonderful ambiance, and extraordinary service. If I had known it was closing we would have had one last visit for the memories. I hope they will find themselves a new home.
