I visited The Coffee Club at Redlynch on Saturday, January 15th, 2022. I ordered a cappuccino and a muffin, which came to a total of AUD $11.40. The service was very good, although I had to ask for a teaspoon. The interior was spacious and clean, with reasonable menu prices. Unfortunately, the outside seating area was not in use during my visit.
There were about ten people in the dining area when I arrived at the restaurant. I tried to order food but was told there was a 40-minute wait, so I decided to just order two coffees instead. After waiting for 30 minutes, my coffee finally arrived. The coffee was okay, but it was a little cold.
The Coffee Club outlets in Redlynch and Smithfield are our local go-to spots for a caffeine fix. However, there is a noticeable difference in quality when it comes to ordering a coffee at the Redlynch location. As mentioned by another Cairns local, the coffee here is often described as milky dishwater with no discernible taste. In order to make my latte drinkable, I have to request three shots of espresso. The flat white is lackluster and uninspiring, requiring an additional shot just to reach the level of flavor found at other Coffee Club locations. It may be beneficial for the staff to undergo a barista course or for the brand of coffee used to be reevaluated. With the limited number of customers currently frequenting the store, there is no excuse for providing anything less than a top-notch experience for those who choose to support this establishment. If I wanted subpar coffee, I could have just stayed at home.
It started out as a special along with any coffee for $9.90 each Sunday and followed on through the week during the months of September and October 2017. But alas all came to an end in November! It;s still the same price but no to be had anymore! And the humble chef whose an expert in the dish was not around when I last tasted it, only a few days ago. The manageress she gave it a go, but its not the same, no love was intent when she served the dish. Its got to be made with tender love and care for the customer to taste the adventure within! Placed on the table with a look of despair, because I'd requested no relish to be there! I saw the look, the here you go mate! Not the same when the chef served the same game!
