Harrows Chicken Pies - Reading

Terrible, what is wrong is to remove aluminum pans! Aluminium, bleed into food. Aluminium is not cooked or eaten. I think they used glass 60 years ago.

Always fantastic. For years. Fantastic and immediate service. Very nice and helpful staff. They have a great word of mouth reputation because they are so ingenious. I always get a frozen or fresh cake with vegetables and a few rolls when I'm in the area. You can buy them cooked?. I think you'll have to go ahead. Just call and ask. Delicious homemade Cranbury sauce, potatoes and Gravy plus desserts. Do not miss this place, whether you visit or live here. And please remember to say, please and thank the staff. You're really top! Very helpful and always ready to help. I can't think of a place with better people than this place. 10 stars?!

After watching their commercials on Phantom Gourmet for years, we finally stopped in to pick up one of their chicken pies to take back home to Canada. It stayed frozen for the 9hr drive and tonight we had it for dinner. Lots of chicken, potatoes and carrots in the pie. The gravy was tasty but we found it needed a little pepper and a touch of salt for seasoning. We all enjoyed it and now will have to wait another few years before our next roadtrip to the Boston area.

My wife, a Reading native, recommended this place as the ultimate chicken pie comfort food. Definitely worth a stop when in the area. Available for hot and ready, or freezer ready.
