The Traditional Chip Shop - Randwick

Once again we return in the hope that it recaptures the delights of when it first opened. Unfortunately not! The batter for the cod is so hit and miss but more miss than hit. Greasy and sometimes over cooked batter is not nice. Either they changed recipes or cooks since it opened as it just not the same and is also very inconsistent. The cod itself and the chips in particular were always reason enough to try again but once again even the chips were rubbish. Complained about this before but alas no good. Even went back to bronte in between but just not great anymore and not even good sometimes. As for the fish cake, well that was terrible, Very disappointed yet again!

Absolutely disgusting, all it tasted of was grease. Soggy chips, batter was soggy this is not a traditional chip shop! Never again!!

Our sick kidult in hospital requested a burger and chips - the Chip Shop was within walking distance, so off we went. The most disappointing meal ever, ever, ever :( All 3 of the burger buns were stale, there was minimal filling and they were dry. The chips - inedible - this white mushy mess - just horrid.

We love coming here for the chips and burgers. Love the Garlic cheese chips, unreal. They even have the soft drinks from there as well, Iron Bru, Lilt. Even just the Chips ( Hot Chips to the Aussies )are tasty.

I love my hot chips and just received undercooked, white mush when I have arrived home and unwrapped my order. They are limp and soft, plain gross when it comes to mouth feel. Please either increase the temp of your oil, change your oil or cook for longer as I have just wasted my money.Also the woman serving me needs a shot of energy - the awkward 10 minutes I waited for the order she was dead silent and stared into space...even tho it was just her and I in the entire shop. Maybe retrain your staff to be friendly, and attempt an upsell!
