It was a kind of ground meat, but NOT chorizo at all.! except that, the restaurant was ok, but the service incredibly slow. they need personal, 2 waitresses, and 0 cashiers (the waitresses were the Cashiers too) for near 20 tables. some people even waited more than an hour for their food! Poor waitresses, seriously, hire some people for evening. but I still think is a restaurant people should try, Mexican food is awesome!
Wow, we discovered this restaurant last week, looking for a place to eat lunch in the area. I was very impressed by the quality of the food, and the explosion of flavours on every bites! The daily menu was very good and of a good price I thought for the quantity of food in your plate. The decoration is very nice and makes you feel in a warm country! The ambiance was a bit slow but it was only a Monday during lunch time. Can't believe I missed out on this place for the past years! I can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu!
Occasion: we went to this restaurant on a Thursday night on a visit to Quebec city.Service: ok, nothing special. Food took a long time to get to the table, but the restaurant was full, so it's understandable.Decor and atmosphere: the decoration was nice and made for a warm atmosphere. Due to the number of people, the noise level was high. There were a lot of groups and children.Food: we took the table d'hôte: guacamole, tacos al pastor, enchiladas with chicken. And two margaritas. The drinks were supposed to contain alcohol, but if there was, we couldn't taste it, probably because there was a special two for one. The guacamole was fine but on the small side. The tacos al pastor were also poorly garnished and didn't taste much. The enchiladas were very spicy and didn't have any other flavour. The bill: way too expensive for what we got!Verdict: no way, Jose!
I came here with a Groupon voucher, didn't find it very good value. $20 for a pitcher of sangria, was quite small and not the best. The food was good but not the best Mexican I've had. We had the frijoles
The Mexican House may not be located in the streets of Vieux Quebec or the lively San Juan, but it is definitely worth the trip. This cozy restaurant has a charming atmosphere and is beautifully decorated to mimic a city in Mexico (complete with outdoor seating during warm months). The dishes are prepared by Mexican chefs using fresh local ingredients, resulting in delicious Mexican cuisine. In addition to classics like nachos, tacos, churros, and enchiladas, they also offer Mexican beers, cocktails like mojitos and margaritas, as well as a variety of tequilas. The restaurant is open every day and reservations are recommended.
