The sill on one floor length window was so rotted that the window was nearly falling out leading to a ten foot drop. Not safe, especially not for children or the elderly. And note that when the restaurant is closed, the gardens are closed, too. Even if you're staying there, you will not be able to walk in the gardens. Plus, the rooms are right next to a busy, noisy road. And, you're not much closer to Haleakala than you are from, say, Kihei. But it's the dangerous disrepair that's the most troubling.
This review is for the Kula Lodge restaurant. Cozy atmosphere with a sweet almost hidden scenery of Maui. I’d like to Compliment Mary our waitress who was kind welcoming I’d like to acknowledge the chef who made efforts to come out to speak with us and ensure our food was accommodating. The food here is absolutely delicious! So glad to have found this place as it was my family and I first time in beautiful Hawaii.
Came for breakfast with family. Ono food with an amazing view! There is even a pizza oven outside I think for lunch and dinner with outdoor seating. The chef came out to see how everything was and to talk of where we came from and his journey to getting there. Above and beyond. There's a store right next door with souvenirs and ingredients used in the restaurants breakfast dishes.
After reopening, this place have certainly not forgotten their cooking craft. We sampled various things on the menu, and all we can say is Fabulous!
