I ordered a pizza that never came when we left 30 minutes after the dinner of my party. There were no excuses and that seemed normal for the staff. Food (if served) was acceptable. The only good point was the live music that turned out really nice.
From the minute we set ourselves, we got a CBA attitude from the waiter. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish were both quite terrible. The pasta had much too much basil, no salt and had a strange acidic taste, moreover it was just so constipating to eat. The pizza showed no tomato base, fake ham and a terrible chemical approach to chorizo. The live band they left just before we left ruined what the place had by playing far too loud and out of action. Then the bill was added with an additional fee that we didn't know the Spanish word, so we had it with the waiter who told us it was tax. No one likes tax, but we accepted it until we checked the translation and it turned out to be a tip so that we didn't just get bad service, the waiter lied to our faces about what it was and we were expected to pay extra! He came back with our change and told us again that it was taxes until I told him that it was not, it was a tip at the point where he gradually admitted that it was. I asked about the rest of the change and after a frustrated exchange he escaped. After 15 minutes we had to send another waiter to find him, 5 minutes later we finally get our full change.
Because of the many cases of severe digestive system illnesses in Chiapas, I politely asked waiters to wash their hands when they touch food to customers because it seemed as if it were not. I tried to explain that the immune system of tourists could be different than Maxican. This was just a polite proposal for customers and the restaurant... In response, I was told that I was making problems and asked to go. But the place looks good, great traditions, live music... just remembers bringing your own food:
The service is terrible. They know and don’t care. That’s why a 10% tip is already added to the bill. Stating that it’s not mandatory but when they bring back the change, the tip is deducted from the change.
I went in the evening and the food was nice, and the service was great. But then I went in the morning and honestly, the waiters were so unfriendly I would actually describe it as hostile. It made for a very unpleasant and involuntary environment. The service was also extremely slow, both in terms of waiting for your food and then also, try to attract someone's attention to demand/pay everything etc. I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone for these reasons.
