Chennai Chimney - Princeton

This was an excellent dinner; although I wasn't impressed by the weekday buffet, dinner courses are really well created.

We were very fast for what a nice birthday dinner should be. We all hadn't seen each other for years and were thrilled to see each other and celebrate a birthday, and the waiter came on us almost every 5 minutes bc he had another party. The busty boy literally took a drink from our hand, with which someone wasn't ready to start cleaning and we still ate. This was an hour in the meal, and each restaurant has at least one 2 hours of seating policy, unless otherwise designated. It ruined my birthday and the food was mediocre. In addition, no other party was rushed and we were a party of color that made it even worse because it felt targeted because none of the other parties were asked to do so.

We kept trying to find a way to be happy with our experience. The wait time to place an order and the wait time to be served was very long despite asking about timing multiple times. The restaurant was just not that full. Additionally my dish was hard to eat as there was bone/gristle in it. Looks like there could’ve been better care taken in preparing the meal. Overall a pretty disappointing experience which I’m onhappy to report as we really kept trying to find ways to be happy with our visit. Really do miss Masala Grille. I have never left a negative report for a restaurant before as I feel like there can always be factors that influence that one visit that might not occur on the next visit. But this is my second visit here and the second visit was worse than the first. I’m hoping my feedback will let the restaurant make some improvements.

Food was delicious. They seemed pretty understaffed though.
