Fries were good but just the standard crinkle cuts you can get anywhere. Beer is cold, staff is friendly and I highly recommend the burger.
Super STOKED a Sports Bar has opened in Powhatan, I have visited several times before but the restaurant was still under construction. Finally, for the season opener Yankees vs Red Sox, I was able to get through the doors with much anticipation! First glance, looked like a Sports Bar to me minus the painted pictures of farms and cows next to the big screens?? Pretty marble bar tops and flat screen tv's everywhere with adequate seating (lol I was the only customer at 1:30pm). Tinted black windows, the setting was a bit too dark but bearable. A little old lady that spoke Spanish came walking out of the kitchen area and greeted me nicely. After some chit chatter, I found out the place is owned by the El Salvardorian's next door who run Rosa's Italian. Got a bit scared since I have been to Rosa's several times with much displeasure. I ordered the mushroom burger with onion rings for just $6.99 and a draft beer. Cutting to the chase, the burger was delightfully delicious, thick and juicy, loaded with mushrooms. The onion rings were OK but overcooked, almost burnt but the burger made up for it. Several more patrons showed up and sat down thinking they were inside Rosa's since there were joining doors. Had great conversations with the waitstaff and the owner. Pleasantly nice and a decent experience, I shall be back.
The bar tenders are super friendly and the customer service is awesome! The drinks are always awesome and so is the food! Great prices too!
Good food. Good atmosphere. Wraps and burgers are great!
I first visited Flatrock Sports Bar in January of 2013, the first month it was officially open. My husband and I were visiting his parents and thought this bar sounded like a great place to treat them to lunch. Our server was a petite older woman who seemed ready to argue with anyone and everyone but overall was polite and smiled. My mother in-law ordered a white wine that was served at room temp in a glass that clearly had an unwashed lipstick stain on the rim. Our server fixed this upon our request. My husband ordered a ribeye steak sub that was served cold in the middle. When he asked if they would heat it up our server placed her hands on her hips and sighed. By the time my husband 's food was fixed my in-laws and I had finished our meal. I had a salad with chicken. The chicken was dry but the salad looked fresh. I attributed the Bar 's shortcomings to them being new and seemingly short staffed. On our second AND LAST time eating at this Sports Bar in March my husband and I came for an early dinner around 4:30pm on a weeknight. We were informed by our server, a pretty younger hispanic woman by the name of Karla, that there wasn 't a happy hour. I find this strange since it 's a bar. There were only 2 other customers, men, who were sitting at the bar. My husband and myself sat in a booth under one of the large TVs. The food took half an hour to arrive. This time the food was still mediocre and our only issue was that we requested ketchup only on our burgers and they came with everything. Everything included: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and some type of hot pepper. We asked our server to speak with the manager and she rudely told us he didn 't wish to speak with us. I left a $5 bill on the table (for the fountain drinks) and we left. I will not eat at, nor even entertain the thought of returning to that bar until I hear that it is either under new management or has hired staff that doesn 't get frustrated with customers over an obvious language barrier on their part.
