Il Bagatto - POSTA

The village of Posta is situated on the SS4 highway from Rome to Ascoli Piceno, on which there is a lack of good places to eat, so we were lucky to come across this excellent restaurant at just the right time for lunch. Within 20 minutes of our arrival, the place was full and turning people away. The food was of good quality and the service was friendly and quick enough, allowing for our pasta meals to be properly prepared.

If you find yourself going from Rome to Ascoli Piceno (3 hours from Rome), do yourself a favor and have lunch or dinner at Il Bagatto, located in the cute town of Posta (under 2 hours from Rome) along the ancient Roman road, the Via Salaria (which is today, in general, SS 4). We have had the Pasta Amatriciana as well as that Carbonara, excellent. They have a wide and exceptional selection of seafood. My favorite of the Secondi is the filet of beef with green peppercorns. The restaurant is run and operated by a very attractive and charming family.
