Finally, I 've found it. The elusive 'good mexican food ' in Portland eludes me no longer. Tacos for $1 that put other joints to shame. I may just have to move to St. Johns so I can have tripe tacos every day.
Tienda Santa Cruz is the best all-around mex spot in nopo as far as I'm concerned. S.C. is big, delicious, and very cheap! Weekend hangover specials. You will hardly be alone as there are always numerous folks eating. The pastries in the store front are truly lucious. Enjoy.
Finally!. This is, in my opinion, the best Mexican food I have found in Portland so far. Moved here from San Diego in 2008 and hadn't found anything on par with the great Mexican food there until I wandered into this little grocer with a wad of cash and a heart full of hope. Great burros and tacos. Delicious, authentic salsas. I am complete.
Yummy asada taco, chicken taco and chile releno burrito ... We will be going back here. Another great nopo hole in the wall or in this case hole in the grocery store.
