Sugar Street Bakery Bistro - Portland

Beautifulllll! Thank you so much for a delicious and beautiful cake. It held up in hot weather, looked beautiful and guests loved it. The taste test, service and delivery was amazing.

I don 't know what 's happening to this spot but what they did to me on my sons birthday is cruel. I had met with Justine (the owner) weeks ago to make a special allergy friendly order for my kids birthday. She was very helpful and receptive at the time. I was so grateful to her because my family has been struggling with my sons very long list of allergies feeling like he couldn 't participate in birthday celebrations or anything where sweets were involved. She said she would send an invoice the following week but I didn 't get it. With only a week left for the party I reached out and the email said the cupcakes would be ready the morning of the party. I called the bakery yesterday to confirm on the number of cupcakes and potentially order a few more and they told me I could go pickup in the next few hours. When I arrived there was no mini cake (for my son to blowout candles). The cashier felt bad and threw in some extra cupcakes they had lying around then handed me a large box. I had to leave quickly because my two young sons were in the car and one had fallen asleep (cashier had walked out to my car to deliver items). See pictures for what I was given versus what they have created for other events. My family was in shock when I came home. My mother in law said I should try them to make sure they were even edible. My husband took a bite and found a hair in his. Now when I try to call they don 't answer and their website is down. Whatever it is this business is going through I pray for them but what they did to us was so cruel. They could have called me and told me something happened to their business and given me the option to look elsewhere or they could give me my money back for this trash!!! Lastly when I met with Justine she made it a point to say her husband was black and that she had a blended family. I was speaking this bakeries praises to friends I know because I go far for bipoc owned businesses. This is so heart breaking. Justine Flaherty and Kenric Craver if you see this God have mercy on you. Update: I tried to find the owners ' emails because I actually thought maybe they were unaware that this had happened. I found a way to contact Kenric and my message said contact me about what happened with an order from your bakery . Then I see he blocked me, so I sent him another message basically saying the above. His response was that he and reported me to my employer and called the police on me????

Alot of the cupcakes were very mild flavored. The flavor choices sound good though. I have a pretty big sweet tooth so it didn't quite hit for me but that's only my opinion. The texture was also somewhat crummy and I was hoping a more decadent bite. The white chocolate cherry shortbread was very very good though. The glaze over and the way the shortbread crumbles in the mouth melds well.

This review is for their catering service. Our order was accepted several days in advance, and we were notified that morning that it would be ready at the scheduled time. 30 minutes before I go to pick up the order, they cancelled it, leaving me to scramble to feed 15 people. When called they offered no explanation. I’ve ordered from them several times for office lunches and it’s always been a great experience in the past. Unfortunately we won’t be using them again.Edit: Thanks for responding (updated to 3 stars), ez-cater let me know that the order was cancelled on your end with the reason given as lack of product.

Attractive modern-industrial bakery Cafe, with beautiful looking baked goods and cupcakes. I sampled 3 different types of cupcakes and was underwhelmed by each.The generous buttercream toppings adorning each cupcake (Strawberry, Chocolate, and ? were bland, and the cakes dry and flavorless. No better than MOC or Safeway, just less sugary sweet.
