Dar Salam Lazurdi - Portland

My friends and I went there for our annual Christmas gathering. It was my first time there. I must admit that the food was the best I have tasted. Adis soup was the Champ! I will definitely come back soon.

Overall, the food was good. Service was fine. The one nitpick that I have is with regard to taking food home. We could not eat the entire meal and asked to have it packed to go. The waiter brought us to-go containers. I think restaurants should pack your food to go for you. We were seated at a very small table, with large plates, and that left little room to set the to-go containers. As my husband placed his good in the container, it fell off of the table. The response from the wait staff was basically “it happens.” The way this was handled lowers our overall experience with the restaurant.

The starters were great but the main course seemed to be lacking in flavor.

Went to this place for dinner based on location near a performance we were attending, and were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, service, and food. I had the mezzo platter with lamb always a risk because it’s so often overcooked, chewy, tasteless. In this case it was great, and the usual accompanying items were fine. Only complaint was only one red wine by the glass (14 hands, not my favorite).

Amazing experience!. Food was great and wonderful ambiance. I loved the decor.
