Very tough piece of fish. Thinking it might have been frozen and not fresh. Sent it back twice. All entrees with the exception of scallops come with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were just ok. The scallops come with risotto. The risotto was not good. Very sticky/pasty. Our server said it comes pre-packaged so she doubted the taste/texture would be any better. The scallops were good and cooked perfectly though. Not sure why a high-end restaurant wouldn’t prepare their own risotto. Oh, my husband found a price of plastic in his potatoes. Ugg. Had high hope for this place but we won’t be back.
WOW! Date night? If you haven't checked out The View lately, GO! We almost missed out because of the old reviews (pre new chef) and patio reviews.Dinners are downstairs and that is where we ate. There is an upstairs patio for small bites and cocktails only. I recommend eating downstairs and then heading up for a cocktail afterwards.I really wish we had gone a few weeks ago because we leave tomorrow and this is now our new favorite in the area! I thought because of some of the earlier and patio reviews that it would be ok but it completely exceeded our expectations in every way. It was just EXCELLENT. We live in Chicago and dine out often so we are pretty picky. Everything we ate was delicious and cooked perfectly. The View restaurant is a bit hidden but such a lovely spot with a nice view out back.We had the crab stuffed mushrooms, the filet (sauce for that was so incredible), lobster/steak and bannanas foster flambe. The staff was super attentive, friendly and on the ball. They worked together as a team. They made our last night in town feel really special. We will be back next year at some point in the Fall and will plan on visiting a few times then.Thank you all so much for a truly wonderful evening.
The Meatloaf was to die for!! The serving portion is enough for two people to share. We waited until our last night of fall break to dine there and the service and food did not disappoint. We ate upstairs and the views of the bay at sunset were spectacular. We'll definitely be back next year. We will certainly try the downstairs finer dining next time.
We almost missed out on a great thing because of some of the OLD reviews here. If you haven't been lately, you need to because things have changed for the better. This our new favorite spot for dinner.Date night? The Patio upstairs is a SEPERATE menu and that also plays into the discrepancy in reviews. The food and service downstairs is amazing. We will be back next year several times for sure! It's a bit hidden but such a lovely spot with a nice view, of course.
