Port Hughes tavern

Located right next to the pier at Pt Hughes the Tavern offers a good range of food at reasonable prices for the size of the meals , ie huge. Luckily, they will do 1/2 sized versions for those of us with smaller appetites. Obviously they have a great range of seafood choices & steaks, pizza etc. Nothing fancy but good honest food.

Having spent 3 nights at the Port Hughes Tourist Park is was great to finish with a cleanser after fishing on the Jetty or after a charter with Port Hughes Fishing Charters. This is the place and man we're we impressed sitting at the front window watching the best sunset Staff friendly and hospitable.

The lunches ate very good value as are the schnitzels. You can purchase $12 lunches and every one we spoke to were pleased with their food.

We had dinner at this restaurant one night during our trip and ordered the seafood platter for two. The portions were very generous, so much so that we were given takeaway containers to bring the leftovers home with us. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were impressed by the great selection at the veggie and salad bar. The service was quick and friendly, and the kids menu had a great variety of options. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning on our next visit to the area.

Excellent place for a meal, and the staff are very friendly and the tavern has great views over the jetty and gulf.The meals a hugh so if you are not a big eater select a half serve.I had a rump steak which covered the whole plate.
