Cod portion was small compered to what I'm used to in the UK but still one of the better fish and chip meals I've had in Canada.
The halibut here is unbeatable. Any way you order it (classic, panko, or grilled) is killer! The salads and fries along with their various side sauces make this a must-stop every time we're in Port Alberni. The only disappointment is their coleslaw - I think they realize that, though, since hey always ask if you want it or not (it's included in the price.) Overall, big thumbs up and a definite recommendation
By no means a fancy place (a renovated church,) it has a limited menu, both drink and food. However, the servings were plentiful, service was good, especially since there were only two servers working during a busy dinner hour. The food was excellent. If you go away hungry it's your fault since there is plenty on the plate. Would happily return if given a chance.
Good fish and chips in a funky shop with funky plating. Lots of different choices for the fish, cook, fries and dips.
Stopped here on way to Ucluelet to the joy of many hungry travelers. We were not disappointed in portions, taste, and service as we enjoyed cod, salmon among other things. It was so good we stopped there again on our way off the island! Don't change a thing Bare Bones!
