Tavern 5 - Pompton Plains

Always a good time in tavern 5. big eating and drinking, this time I got the honey coward martini and my bf got the Texas mule. the sugar beet and goat cheese salad is my target. the atmosphere is rustic and cozy.

Nice local bar and restaurant. Used to be Gilley's. First time here. House Chardonnay wine was perfect and they have really creative and delicious cocktails on the drink menu. I had the meatball appetizer and a house salad. Whenever I see meatballs alone on a menu, I try them. The sauce was very good but although the meatballs were a great consistency (not too hard, not too soft), there was little flavor. More garlic and even oregano or Italian seasoning would elevate this dish. Also more grated cheese....the salad was nicely chilled and great house dressing....will definitely go back but try something else. P.S. Wait Staff left a good impression overall....?

Food was amazing.. service was ok.. no napkins, salt, pepper,or ketchup provided. Everything we asked for we never got. Drinks were so watered down..

Been here a few times. Very helpful staff. Drinks are always good. Food is always good. Will definitely be coming back more and more. Had friends come with us and they loved it too. (Especially the holiday cocktails).
