Third lunch visit and it never disappoints! Had the fabulous 5 course degustation menu, worth every cent, while the missus had both tasting plates (also
Dined at the restaurant in a group of 9. Menu is very good & we had a variety 2 course meals. The servings are average but end up being quite filling. The restaurant has a simple modern & very relaxing ambience which made us very relaxed.
Today we had lunch for a family birthday, we were seated and given menus quickly while waiting for all guest to arrive. We ordered a glass of red and waited some time for it, the waitress never returned with it untill asking another where it was. On looking through the kids menu there was only 3 options, we decided on the chicken snitzel, chips & salad when it was served the chips were oily and soft and the snitzel was over cooked and thin and the price was $15 to much! The whole meal was left on the plate unfortunately. We had 2 courses each, entree of cured fish and scampi and mains were half duck, braised beef and fish of the day. We all enjoyed our meals, they were served in a timely manner and enjoyable. It's just a shame the kids meal was so rushed and really no care taken when cooking it.
My partner and I decided to drive to Hunter Valley for the day. As usual i decided to go for lunch Esca Bimbadgen. The restaurant lived true to its form and delivered a delicious meal. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, it was impossible to fault them. Service was just at its best, and the meal was spectacular. We chose to have the 2 course meal option. Portions are quite generous and filling, one should be careful when ordering. We decided to have one of the side dish with our meal, it was far sufficient. We chose the roasted pumpkin, with pine nuts and panna cotta. OMG that was amazing, the combined flavors brought a sense of being in the forest, the panna cotta took us to a farm, it was like a dream. Our twice cooked half duck, was juicy, and the skin complimented the cooked to perfection tender meat. On the drinking side, it is advisable to try the matching wine, although it may not be the best, it is worth trying. If you don't like it, no problem, the maitre d'hotel will change it for you, to something you like. Once again a marque of excellent service.I will stop here, as I could write forever.Bon Appetite
