Just had a lovely meal at the Lord Louis. Staff were very engaging and friendly. They told us of a short delay awaiting fresh vegetables. Chef lady gave us a few extras until food was ready. Our waitress Karen was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. She kept popping over to check we were OK.
Came down for an unplanned lunch with my girlfriend and young daughter this afternoon. We were greeted by a lovely lady who explained how to order, where the highchairs were etc. We ordered two pints, a carvery and a pizza. There was a slightly weird taste to the beers, but Dave, one of the managers, was brilliant and dealt with it straight away. The pub wasn't too busy, but we were pleasantly surprised at the speed of service. My pizza was on the table within 15 minutes and was stunning. Some might say it needed another minute in the oven, but slightly soft is exactly how I like it! My girlfriend's carvery was well carved and tasty and my daughter was well catered for as well. Would definitely recommend, based on this visit, thanks to all the staff!
I had a great experience at the restaurant. We were able to book a table for 10 people without any issues on a Sunday afternoon. The food arrived in a timely manner. For vegetarians, the meat-free carousel is only £4.99, which is a fantastic deal! If you're feeling a bit adventurous, there's a frying-dinner-rolling zone to try. However, I should note that vegans might struggle to find suitable options on the menu.
Superstar waitress! Karen is a true asset to her team. She is friendly and attentive. We ordered fish and chips and a carvery. The fish and chips were a solid 5/5, while the carvery was a 4/5, but I suspect that was due to the time we arrived. If we had come in the afternoon, the food would have been fresher. I was seated underneath the heat lamps, so the vegetables looked dry, and the filling was so unappetizing that I didn't even try it. However, the gammon and gravy were fantastic, which was definitely the highlight. For dessert, we had chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding. The brownie deserves a 3/5; it was really thick and heavy, but the sticky toffee pudding was a delightful 4/5. Overall, the service here was excellent, though the food could use a touch more care. I will definitely return for another weekday roast!
