Caffe Mona - Pittsburgh

After spending the night at a hotel in Pittsburgh and celebrating the Fourth of July at Point State Park, we decided to explore the Strip District for breakfast before leaving town. Initially considering a popular restaurant nearby, we stumbled upon Caffe Mona and were intrigued by their menu. Opting for breakfast here turned out to be a great choice. The menu offered a variety of delicious omelettes and both sweet and savory crepes. I ordered the Chevre omelet with sun-dried tomatoes, baby spinach, and goat cheese, while my wife tried the Chevre Crepe, similar to the omelette but with a crepe instead of egg. Both dishes were fantastic. Despite the rainy weather, we were still able to enjoy our meal slowly while sipping on excellent coffee. We are already planning a return visit to the Strip District on a Saturday morning to dine here again.

I went to Caffe Mona for breakfast on a Saturday morning and was very pleased with my experience. The staff was friendly and courteous, offering a variety of breakfast options. They promptly brought a chilled bottle of water to our table as soon as we sat down. My partner enjoyed the Monte Cristo French toast, while I tried the Oreo crepes which were delicious. The food tasted fresh and the prices were reasonable. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the beautiful decor and music. Caffe Mona is located right next to Deluca's and we will definitely be returning.

The staff greeted us warmly when we arrived at this restaurant. I believe the two men own this lovely food establishment. The avocado toast was served with a side salad and was delightfully tasty. I encourage you to come and show your support for this charming place.

New family tradition. Best breakfast ever. Family members took us. It was fabulous, the food, the decorations, the sound track. Caffe Mona is now our must go place for breakfast when we visit Pittsburgh.

Service and atmosphere were fine. We went earlyish on a weekend morning and had no difficulty getting a table for 4. My food was okay- nice pancakes but nothing special for the price tag. (I realize inflation is up, labor and supplies are in high demand, but $12 for four smallish-medium pancakes with no sides and just syrup When we asked for water we weren't given an option and were presented with bottled. And yes, we were charged for those, too. Bottled water is a waste of resources. Bottom line: IMO, not worth the money.
