I've tried many small portions and had an explosion. eating is great, service is great. If I'm ever back in baltimore, I'll definitely see her up again!
I used to come to this place more often when I lived in the area, but haven’t been in awhile. Today was amazing! We were greeted and seated almost immediately, service was super warm, attentive and welcoming. Actually, in the end we found out it was GM Greg, he was so nice and friendly! Food was absolutely amazing we ordered “Nezhnost’” salad, Shurpa soup, a skewer each of lamb and ground beef kabobs, side of potatoes and mushrooms and some tandoori bread. All was perfectly made, fresh and delicious. My husband loved salad and kabobs the most, while I appreciated all of the above. If you are not sure what to order, you can’t go wrong with any of the kabobs, manti dumplings (I suggest steamed with meat, but they have vegetarian option too) as well as soups (I’ve tried and loved all of them, but I really like the broth with little dumplings in it perfect for the cold weather). Their fruit juice they serve is homemade and absolutely delicious!
One the best Russian Uzbek restaurants in the state. We drive many miles to enjoy their authentic and flavorful cuisine. If you are both familiar with the foods, your server will help you chose a variety of good tastes. My personal favorite is the neshnest (sp)
Definitely going back. Salad, main dish, kabobs were all excellent. Forgot to order the veggie kabob but will next time. Prices are fantastic too. Been to a few of these places but this one is by far the best.
The Silk Road Bistro serves traditional Uzbek food. It's prepared to order, fresh, and quite good. The decor is beautiful, and they have belly dancers on Thursday evenings. We had a loaf of Uzbek bread. It looked like a very large bialy, and it was very good. I had a samsara appetizer, a triangular pastry filled with minced beef, pastry, and spices, excellent. Then I had a shurpa, a traditional Uzbek soup with lamb, chickpeas, and vegetables. Finally, I had manti, dumplings filled with either beef, pumpkin, or potatoes. I chose potato. My meal was excellent, and the price was reasonable. My only complaint is that there was trash on the sidewalk outside the front door of the restaurant, and there's not a wheelchair accessible entrance. Paying the bill was interesting. The bill had a QR code. Pointing my phone at the QR code and clicking on the resulting link brought me right to the page where I could pay with a credit card. The What3Words address of the Silk Road Bistro is: /snow.oddly.lots The What3Words address of their parking lot in the back is: /truth.organs.fence There is a back entrance from the parking lot into the restaurant.
