Compliments to the chef. Stuffed artichoke hearts to start we’re done with creativity snd did not disappoint Entrees and deserts were high level. This place in an unassuming neighborhood is worth the visit. From one Italian to another, bravo!
No recognition of our jubilee. new owners since 10 days. lemon drop martinis needs a sugar rim and it was blanching. my pasta was delicious, like the Caesar salad. a series of typos in the menu. must be read before making more examples.
The new owner informed us that it was 6 days since its possession. he was open and honest and made a point to review with customers to inquire about their experience. we have preordered in the frame of arizona restaurant week. they were not able to check reservations due to computer problems. but we sat within 10 minutes. the borrata and grilled artichokes appetizers were excellent. the aubergineparmesan was well prepared and a healthy portion. the salmon with artichokes was very good. we had tiramisu and zabaglione for dessert who were excellent. the service was somewhat disorganized as it seemed that the staff was new and the menu learned. would go back in a few months when they get their act together. the ambiente was not as expected back east italian.
It is difficult to write this critique, because, as we have said there, the restaurant had changed the hands in the last weeks. our experience was pretty bad and we won't be back, but who knows how they can occur in a few months. we had reservations for 6:15 and went to the restaurant early to have a glass of wine at the bar. the bar is quite small and was packed, so we went somewhere else for a glass wein. after 6:15 we are back, and they said they were not safe when we were in the position to sit. we had a stand requested and one seemed to be close to the opening, but we only sat after 7:00 o'clock. the main negatiw was however in the restaurant week menu. it was not the same as what we had seen on the line. the food we got was good, but the entrée for which this restaurant was chosen was not available. not much reason was given except the place had changed the hands. there are some different problems that this device has to deal with.
I had requested an outside seat. When we arrived there, it really looked down and inconspicuous. we said there was a new owner and he bought the restaurant only before a week. he agreed with my evaluation of the outside space and said that he planned to roast it. he was gracious and accommodating and put us in the house. most of my six party are from new york and some of us are Italian. the description of eating led me to try. although it was good, it wasn't really like homemade ny Italian cuisine. the one was the pizza. that was real. the device and the ambiente also need work. it worked well, but I wish I knew before the time that the ny Italian owners had sold the place. a lot of luck for the new owners. I hope it works for you.
