Great sides as well. The Asian cucumber salad is phenomenal. I also enjoyed the potato salad andthe tater tot casserole. I highly recommend this place.
Smelled so good I started to eat before taking a photo. So these photos don't show the full amount of the servings. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious dinner and dessert.
I am from Kansas City where the bbq is always good and since moving to Texas in April no bbq has come close to the quality we are used to. Brotherton?s was easily the second worst bbq we?ve had since moving to Texas so I am baffled about why the ratingis so high. For starters immediately upon walking you notice how unclean the restaurant is. I ordered a baked potato withchopped brisket just to be safe because who can mess up a potato?!?! Well this place did. The potato tasted like it had beencooking for an entire day and the chopped brisket was barely warm. Utterly gross. My husband had the 2 meat platter withsliced brisket, jalapeño sausage with a side of Mac Cheese and tater tot casserole?the casserole was dry with no flavor, thebrisket was decent, the sausage was chewy and not flavorful and the Mac Cheese was fairly tasty. The food was way toooverpriced for the poor quality. The place didn?t even smell like a bbq restaurant upon walking in! ???? Needless to say wewill not be returning. The search continues?
Absolutely Amazing Food!! This may be the best BBQ meal I have ever had. The restaurant is very spacious and incredibly clean. The staff was top notch!! Very helpful and patient with people making decisions. Lots of seating which is a nice change as somany BBQ places are not known for that. I had the Turkey, Brisket, and Brisket Boudin. Garlic Green Beans and Tater TotCasserole. Top it all off with Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding. My waist line isn?t happy but my taste buds are ecstatic!!
Brotherton's is about a mile off IH-35. It sits in a small strip center located on a side road. It was difficult to see as you approach, and I relied on my GPS. Once in the parking lot, there are signs at the top of the building exterior facade. Iarrived at about a quarter till noon on a Thursday. The parking lot is not huge, but there were several available spots. Iwalked in and was pleasantly surprised to see no line. The staff were very friendly and ordering was straight forward. I hadtried their boudin at the Houston BBQ Festival and knew I wanted more. I also ordered brisket, a rib, and jalapeño cheddarsausage. I went with collard greens and the green chile mac n cheese for sides. I also got a couple more boudin links, brisket, and a pulled pork sandwich to go. I made my way to the main seating area, which is located on the other end of the building. It was a nice area that belied the building's plain exterior. Though there aren't a ton of tables, seating was ample, and Ididn't see any one wait for a seat. The seating area was neat, clean, and had a cool retro feel. I liked looking at the hatsfrom other barbecue joints that were on shelving at the top of the walls. The moist brisket was excellent, flavorful and, well, moist! The rib was also excellent. It had a sweet flavor and was also moist. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was also very good! Iwas a little disappointed in the boudin, as it was a little on the dry side. It wasn't bad, but was a notch or two below theother meats. The collard greens looked really good, but had a little bit of a bitter finish. The mac n cheese looked a littledry on top, but once I dug in, I found it moist, with a fantastic creamy cheese flavor! By the time I finished, I knew I had togo back through and order another jalapeño cheddar sausage link and another rib to go. I told the staff how much I liked therib and learned they use a mango habanero glaze. The ribs, brisket, sausage, and mac n cheese were definite
