Captain Georges Fish And Chip

Fish and chips are ok but make sure you do not have S..dy the waitress. She is one of the worse servers! She was unfriendly, had to ask for a second coffee, brought the wrong type of fish, never thanked us and never said goodbye. We would return but only with a server other than S..dy. All the young servers that we saw this time were very polite and appeared to be very attentive to their guests. We got the bad one!!

Four of us were here for dinner, and for drinks we ordered 3 waters and 1 beer. The glass of draft beer was put down on the table and we noticed a fly in the foam. We got the attention of the server. When she saw the fly she said, "Oh dear! I'll get you another one. Sorry about that." A couple of minutes later she brought another beer to the table....and another fly, swimming through the foam.She walked away quickly but we yelled, "EXCUSE ME! There's a fly in this one too..." "That's so weird," she said. "Hmm, I'll make sure there isn't one in the next beer." Perhaps with the second beer you could’ve done that? We ordered fish and chips - cod dinners for two. The food was OK and reasonably priced ($17.99 Haddock or Cod Dinner for two with coleslaw). The chips were a bit boring (perhaps undercooked?) and the fish batter was a bit heavy. After our dishes were cleared away, our server asked if we’d like dessert or anything else to drink. We all declined. Within a couple of minutes of that, she approached the table and said, ”Could you settle your bill now? We're closing soon." I looked at my watch; it was 8.30."Oh, when do you close?" "We close at 9.” Oh well.... it's Friday night - she's got other places to be we suppose. Fair enough really. But we weren't intending on staying very much longer; with nothing to drink or eat we had no reason to stay any longer than five minutes or so. To ask us to ‘settle up quickly’ just seemed a bit rude. Thankfully, we weren’t charged for the beer.

We went here for a family birthday. Our service was great, the food not so much. It was so expensive for 2 pieces of white fish and fries. It was nothing spectacular and very tasteless. If it was for my birthday I would have picked a different fish and chip place.

Good food and great service. The selection of fish and the combinations on the menu are worth reviewing. Try the desserts, I recommend the coconut cream pie.

We all ordered the same Cod Fish and chip dinner. Fish was o.k but the fries where white and no flavour. I was expecting chips like the chip trucks sell dark fried and tasty.We agreed that this was not a great meal. No need to return. Good service.I believe that this place now operates under Jacks Restaurant.
