Cosy restaurant with table cloths and linen napkins. Food nicely presented and my husbands steak quickly changed when it was undercooked, not as ordered. Friendly staff and managed well by husband and wife team from Portugal
We stayed at the motel for three nights and ate twice in the attached restaurant. The restaurant was pleasantly full. The service is friendly, the food tasty and beautifully presented. We ordered macadamia baramundi and fish of the day. The homemade chips (large portion) were tasty. They have an extensive list of local wines. We drank a delicious Silkwood Chardonnay. Breakfast is also served in the morning, but we did not use it.
If i could rate in half star increments i would be rating 3.5. Very cosy restaurant situated in an immaculate hotel at the top end of town. The small bar boasts a good range of local wines and Portugese wine is also well represented. First the good points - bruchetta was excellent, menu offers a decent selection including daily specials, wait staff were very friendly. I had garlic prawns for a starter. These were well cooked but like most of our meal under seasoned. The special of the day which at $45 was the priciest menu item was scotch fillet with half marron. The cut of meat was good quality but came out rarer than i ordered. The chicken pocket dish was satisfying to my partner but again lacking seasoning. The small restaurant was busy and the lone wait staff struggled somewhat to meep drinks topped up. Overall, i would visit again because other patrons seemed happy and the dishes i saw being delivered all looked good. We left full and did not sample dessert. Meal for two with two starters, two mains and two glasses of wine $124. The Lost Lake Honey Merlot is worth a try, chilled red wine with distinct honey taste.
Good food with some interesting variations though a bit pricey. Service was friendly and quick. A surprise find for a country town motel.
