Divinity Cafe - Pecq Le

IDK if this is the same place. After touring Duke University Chapel, we were hungary... and Trip Advisor said that this place was 280' away. So we kinda roamed... and followed our nose. We walked down the common towards the Duke statue... and made a right at the next commons sidewalk... and walked in the first door on the right. The first thing we saw was a crepe place... with some grab and go items. We were underwhelmed. And then I happened to walk IDK into the next section behind the crepe place... and saw this Latin American place. And I just started to walk around the room. There was Indian, Italian, sushi, Chinese, ribs, a Sunday dinner kinda place (pot roast? , and more. I went for Indian... and I'm telling you it was the real deal. I had a combo platter. The saag was *very* good... good flavor... and IDK if it was true... but, they said it was vegan. The rice was spot on... not goopy like mall food. I had some other dish... mixed vegetable... and a chick pea dish. All were great. My spouse had pizza... and it was very good. Somebody else had a crepe... not so great. And somebody else had... IDK... a bowl from the Latin American place... spice chipolte aoli... good rice and beans... and some nice toppings. We were very very happy. Duke is rated highly for its dining options... and is recognized for its vegan options. This was a very good find.

Lovely, lively place for students across campus faculty staff to enjoy a good meal in a convenient handsome setting.

This place is unique in it's atmosphere and foods. It is hard to explain it, but this place serves food that is tasty, juicy and not the same as anywhere on Duke campus. Definitely recommend do go at least once.

We were visiting Duke Chapel, and the guide advised us that this was right inside the Divinity School right next door to the Chapel (makes sense) and open to the public, so we gave it a try, following the signs, turned down a corridor and down a staircase with a big chandelier, past a small chapel where a worship group was singing hymns, to this place. It is cafeteria style, with a line that starts at the cold case with grab-n-go items for those who don't want to take time to sit down and eat, winds around the counter where you view and order your selection, which they serve immediately, down to the desserts and cashier. Tables are pretty much communal when it's busy, and the place bustles with students and staff. I ordered an entree which came with 2 sides. My pork Cacciatore was a delicious tender slice of meat, good-sized, and blanketed with a chunky tomatoey sauce. The collard greens were perfectly spiced. The soups were tasty too. They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and the have a catering service. Across the hallway there are doors leading to an outdoor dining area, weather permitting. This was a pleasant place to stop for food, and although I typically give a 5 rating only to upscale gourmet fine dining places, I solidly recommend the Divinity Cafe. And if you can find Duke Chapel, the most prominent feature on the Duke campus skyline, you're almost there.

Best food on campus even in the summer! Always something new to try!
